IBM vs. Macintosh!!!

Is there a challenge???

Main Site

For a time I used to hate I mean hate IBM.  A lot of it was the serious discouragement with Windows Vista, and I was never real proud of Windows XP either.  What Bill Gates created, in fact for a while I renamed him "Bill Hates!" was a joke and a insult to us IBM users who were staying at Bill Gates side in loyalty.  With the advent of Windows 7, I am using the beta version now, (October 6th) and I look forward to repurchasing the full licensed copy on October 22, 2009.  This program is different as they got a the bugs worked out of it before they even put it on the market.  It did have a few random errors in Windows 7 at first, which I fully expected, however in comparison to Windows Vista, Windows 7 is a dream come true.
I recently upgraded to Windows 7 licensed version and it is a dream come true.  This operating system works great and is the best operating system Windows ever produced.  It still has ocasional flaws in disk burning software but I just expect that now.  I have Nero which takes care of disk burning when Windows 7 fails.  I was using Roxie at first but I experienced driver issues probably because Roxie was set up for Vista.  Nero meshes well with Windows 7.  Everything else works flawlessly in Windows 7.  At the same time I merged from Windows 7 beta to a licensed version I also updated a client's computer from XP to Windows 7.  It runs flawlessly now and the client was so pleased with her computer.
So what I had originally written I have to re-write below.  I am also much appreciated of iolo'a System Mechanic that can be reached at www.iolo.com  In Iolo's Professional System Mechanic version 9 the difference is night and day between performance. There are so many new features to Iolo's Professional System Mechanic.  If you value your machine you should not run it without iolo's Professional System Mechanic.  This program keeps me sane and it allows it to run far better.  There are several features to Professional System Mechanic version 9 I will explain and do a full review on on another link.

So the question still arises;   "Is there a challenge between IBM and Macintosh???"

That depends on the operating system.  IBM's Vista was total garbage and for me the operating system worked poorly and kept crashing.  Like I say Windows 7 is like a savior for the IBM users.  It is simple doesn't require a ton of new training and it just makes sense.  (I was having computer troubles when I originallay wrote this.)   It is not a matter of if when an IBM will crash it is a matter of when they will crash taking all your important data with you.  IBM's were garbage before the days of Windows 7 and though they look beautiful they are prone to a myriad of failures.  Macintoshes seemed great in the store when I played with it but I realize now they were loaded with several thousand dollars in softwear which made them seem so nice. In addition to that once a user begins to learn a Macintosh in the real world you will find they aren't all that great.  I found a Macintosh computer very difficult to operate when I actually began working on it due to a reduced number of buttons and things needed.  It is almost like Macintoshes tried to say, "Look I am so simple you don't need all that stuff!"  Sorry but I like all that stuff.  That and I guess I am on the defensive for Bill Gates since people do make mistakes, Vista was the mistake, but he corrected his errors and I just ask that Bill Gates learns from his mistakes.  From my understanding Macintosh's don't have an the problems IBM's have, and there are still problems I am (was) experiencing with Windows 7.  Even right now my curser is in the wrong place on this screen half the time and I don't understand why.
Recently I took a look at Mac's in Macintosh store.  They are great!!!  That depends on how you define great.  You will spend ten times, literally, more on a Macintosh than you will on a comperable IBM and not really gain a whole lot.  Vista in my opinion is a piece of junk.  I didn't believe it at first.  I mean I am an old school IBM user starting out when the 386 ruled the earth and 1 meg of ram was a lot.  Eight megs of ram, which came later, was so out of touch you had to sell your soul to the devil to buy it.  I mean I gave a pretty good size of my credit cards to expensive RAM, not to dis-include the expensive hand scanner I had at one time purchased, plus all the other gizmos I had.  I mean I am well cursed I mean versed in using IBM's.  I have darned this machine from one end of heaven to the other.  The neighbors must think well if he only had a Macintosh.  Well I can't afford it!!!  I mean it is hard enough just to keep this web site from sinking into bad link land let alone buy food and the other essentials.  (Sorry about all the gloom and doom I was not having a good day.)
The thing I recommend for any computer guru is to have at least two computers.  One for professional use the other for things like surveys and games; not that I have time for games, but you definitely need two.  That way one can be busy computing or doing one task while a second goes about a different angle.  Ideally a lap top and desktop are a good combination.  Even better would be a Macintosh and an IBM that way you can do some serious computing but also have access to different software the Macintosh can't use.  Macintoshes are successful and more expensive because they keep most of their items Macintosh brand.  This ensures better compatibility.  Also Macintoshes are not as prone to crashes or viruses.  Though you will spend money in different areas, mainly a great savings from the "shrink" and a hammer to a crashed computer, it will improve family life and more.
If I were doing things professionally, like I am now, and I had the money I would own a Macintosh.  I would still have an IBM computer especially a laptop because they just didn't have a large enough laptop for my "manly" uses.  Seriously I don't mind lugging a heavy bulky laptop as long as it would do what I wanted.

Incorporated January 4th, 1977 Apple is the main manufacturer of a line of personal computers under the Apple Macintosh (Mac) brand name, peripherals, and computer software.  My words are not affiliated with either company just in speaking the truth.

I was unable to get the above program so I purchased Professional System Mechanic from OfficeMax though I am sure Office Depot has the same program.  I think Professional System Mechanic might be better plus it comes with anti-virus however it over double the price.

PS  Windows Vista had its place but so did the Gremlin cars.  For those who can't afford a Macintosh get Windows 7 which is the obvious choice.  I am trying not to slander or hate, but golly gee it is hard not to get upset at a high tech machine that continually crashes.  I just lost the faith in Vista and now with Windows 7 I will never go back.

PPS  As of June 1, 2009 I am in a better frame of mind and despite this computer's problems I am no longer angry at this machine.  I have actually found ways of making it run like it is supposed to run, though it is far from 100 percent, and I may have to get another computer just to do the jobs I am needing it to do, but none the less IBM's do serve a purpose.  You just have to decide what you need and what your wallet can and can't afford.  Most people can't afford a Mac I know I can't and I don't know if I ever will.  I do know this I will probably always own an IBM no matter how fortunate I may one day become.  There is enough inexpensive software out there to make an IBM run correctly and as long as you use the different protective software as oulined on my computer page click here to get there, you can compute with low hastle.

PPPS  As of December 15th, 2009 I just updated this file.  I am through bashing Bill Gates, and now the tides have turned and I see Macintoshes an overly priced yuppy computer.  With Windows 7 on the scene Bill Gates is back in the saddle again.  That and I heard Bill Gates gives a lot of money to charity.

PPPPS  Just as soon as I went to save this file and publish it my computer froze up.  I had to save the file in Word and now I am reformating it.  You make the choice as for me I can't afford Macintosh and even if I could I doubt I'd buy one.  I have to have something to be mad at and use the hammer on pictured to the right for.
